Journey has surpassed Electric Light Orchestra for the leading fan vote getter in early voting for the next class of inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The polls close on December 5 and Journey is currently approximately 70,000 votes ahead of ELO. This years' ballot also includes the Cars, Yes, Steppenwolf and Pearl Jam.
"The fans are stoked. They're very, very excited and they've been very supportive," keyboardist Jonathan Cain told Billboard of the early voting. "I think a lot of fans don't realize they can vote, and that's why we're trying to encourage it."
Although fan votes only add up to a single vote on the official ballot for the winner, last years' winner, Chicago, earned an official induction into the hall of fame.
