‘Ye Raatein...’ a soothing experience

NAGPUR: ‘Ye Raatein Ye Mausam’, a musical programme of songs presented by Kanak Sur Mandir at Scientific Society Hall, gave a soothing experience on Sunday evening.
Singers Datta Harkare, Kanika Gadkari, Anuja Kedar, Laxman Bodade and Amruta Vyawahare presented a fun-filled show that began with ‘Sur Niragas Ho’ from popular Marathi movie Katyar Kaljat Ghusli.
Kanika kicked off the evening with ‘Pinga ga pori’ from Bajirao Mastani which was highly appreciated by the audience.
Other popular hit from the show was the Punjabi folk song ‘Dama dam mast kalandar’ by Kanika which drew calls for ‘once more’. Kanika satisfied the audience by singing the last stanza again. Asha Bhosle’s popular song ‘Jaiye aap kahan jayenge’ presented by Anuja Kedar left the audience in awe. ‘Aamije tomar’, a song from the movie ‘Bhool Bhulaiya’, made the audience excited as there was perfection in every musical note. It was sung by Kanika and Datta.
Another song which attracted attention and appreciation from the audience was ‘Megha re megha re’ sung by Datta and Amruta. ‘Gaarva’, a popular Marathi song originally sung by Milind Ingle, was presented by Laxman Bodade as the crowd hummed the lyrics. The audience seemed so enthusiastic that some of them even got up and started to dance on their places on many popular numbers sung by the artistes.
‘Ye raatein, ye mausam’ was sung beautifully by Laxman.
The accompanying artistes were Moreshwar Dahashashtra on tabla, Parimal Joshi on keyboard, Abhishek Dahikar and Gaurav Taksale on guitar, Datta Harkare on harmonium, Deepak Kamble on dholak and Vishwajeet Paserkar on octopod.
