Surat man rapes sister-in-law, held

MAPUSA: Anjuna police arrested a 32-year-old, a native of Surat, in Gujarat, for allegedly raping his sister-in-law at a hotel in Arpora.
The accused had come to Goa for a vacation along with family, relatives and friends.
According to the police, the survivor and her family and friends arrived in Goa on November 1 for a holiday.
On Sunday when the family went out shopping, the survivor complained of not feeling well and was dropped back to the hotel.
In the afternoon, the accused entered the hotel room, latched the door and forcibly gagged the survivor and raped her.
The survivor, is the accused’s 42-year-old sister-in-law.
The incident came to light when the family returned from shopping and the matter was reported to the police.
Acting on the complaint, Police registered an offence under Section 326 and 376 of IPC and arrested the accused.
Anjuna Police are investigating the case.
