COIMBATORE: A couple and two others were arrested for running flesh trade business at a private hospital at
Gandhipuram here on Thursday.
Police claimed that the couple had rented a room on the second floor of
Ellen Hospital in Gandhipuram, 15 days ago, on the pretext of running an ayurvedic massage centre. Police have rescued two women from the centre.
The arrested were identified as M Tamilarasan, 27, his wife T Priya, 27, both hailing from
Melakalkandarkottai in Trichy, S Srueshkumar, 34 from Rathinapuri and S Manimegalai alias
Velumani, 40, of Singanallur.
Tamilarasan and Priya had been running the ayurvedic massage centre in Madurai a few months ago. Later, they borrowed 3 lakh from their friends and moved to the city.
They approached Manimegalai to help them find a room from where they could run a massage centre. Manimegalai approached the hospital management to get a room on rental basis . As per the agreement, the couple was to pay the hospital a monthly rate of 15,000. Patients could also avail the services of the centre.
The couple had advertised their massage centre on the internet. Soon, women began visiting the room frequently. Rathinapuri police got a tip off that the couple was running flesh trade business from the hospital room.
The police raided the room and arrested the four. They also seized 45,200 from them and rescued two women. The arrested people were remanded to judicial custody.
