Colva: Apprehending arrest in the
murder case of
Shobha Karmali, Yallava Yallappa Harijan, who was the domestic help of the deceased, has moved the
South Goa sessions court seeking anticipatory bail.
On October 7, the 65-year-old woman, a resident of Cacora-Curchorem, was found strangulated in her bedroom. At the time of the incident, her entrepreneur husband, Arvind, was out working and is believed to have spoken to Shobha around 9am for the last time.
The incident came to light when Harijan came to work and found the deceased lying in the bedroom with a brown tape around her neck.
In her statement to police, Yellava has said that she first removed the tape from Shobha’s neck and and then alerted her relative who lives nearby. Cash worth 1.20 lakh and a television are missing from the flat.
