Mohali mayor’s firm to pay 14.6L
Mohali: The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum has directed a real estate company owned by Mohali mayor Kulwant Singh to refund Rs 14.30 lakh and pay Rs 30,000 to a Mohali resident for not handing over the possession of a flat on time.
Anil Kumar Mittal, the complainant, booked a four bedroom-hall-kitchen corner flat at Rs 3,725 per square feet in Falcon View Apartments in Sector 66, Mohali, of Janta Land Promoters Limited (JLPL).
The total value the flat was Rs 1.22 crore. Kumar paid Rs 11.56 lakh in 2012 as booking amount and Rs 16.80 lakh later. JLPL entered into an agreement with Kumar in 2013, issuing an allotment letter. According to it, the construction work was started and demand for 10.44% of basic sale price amounting to Rs 11.68 lakh along with service tax was raised by JLPL.
