Williams to announce 2017 drivers

Unveiling set for 11am; Bottas and Stroll expected to be named

Williams will announce their drivers for the 2017 season at an event at the team's Grove base later this morning.

Valtteri Bottas is expected to remain with the team for a fifth season, but he will have a new partner next year as Felipe Massa is retiring at the end of the season.

Canadian teenager Lance Stroll looks set to be handed a race seat after blitzing the competition in European Formula 3 this year, winning the title by a massive 187 points. He won nearly half of the 30 races, winning seven of the final nine and finishing second in the other two.

Stroll served as Williams development driver during the 2016 season and has embarked on a rigorous F1 testing campaign around the world using a two-year old Williams FW36 at a number of circuits which make up the F1 calendar.

The Williams press conference begins at 11am on Thursday morning, when confirmation of both drivers is expected.
