Bollywood celebrities to perform at Hampi Utsav

Ballari: International, national and local artistes are set to perform at the three-day Hampi Utsav which begins on Thursday. The main stage has been erected near Yeduru Basava, named after visionary of Hampi Utsav M P Prakash. It is situated opposite Virupaksha Temple.
The other stages are at Virupaksha Temple precincts, Kadlekal and Sasivekal Ganesh, near Krishna temple, near Gayatri Peetha, near Kamalapur town and adjacent to Vijaya Vittala Temple.
Cultural troupes from countries like Russia, Italy, Austria, Afghanistan, Hungary, Columbia, Egypt, Iran, France and Columbia will perform at the event. Indian artistes to perform at the festival include Venkatesh Kumar (Hindustani vocal), Narasimhalu Vadavati (clarinet), Nagaveni Srinath and Vidyabhushan (Carnatic vocal), Bharathi Shivaji (Mohiniattam), Rajesh Krishnan and Raghu Dixit, Anuradha Paul, Sushmita Sen, Salim-Sulaiman, Iqbal Ahmed Khan (Hindustani Classical) and Shailu Jindal (Kuchipudi).
SP R Chethan said that two additional SPs, eight DSPs, 34 CPIs, 90 PSIs, 188 ASIs, 1,130 head constables and constables, 132 women constables, 200 Home Guards have been deputed.
Apart from these, seven platoons of the KSRP and 10 from the DAR have been pressed into service. CCTV cameras have been installed at as many as 50 places.
