Youth Congress leader Jagdeep Sangwan, wanted since July 31 in a liquor smuggling case, was arrested yesterday from Dhani Rahimpur in the district.
Sangwan from the district’s Dohki village was booked at the Badhra police station in two cases of smuggling liquor to various places, including Rajasthan.
Sources said he was booked after the police had seized a cache of illegal liquor. Those arrested from the spot had named the accused as the owner of the liquor stocks.
The police said the accused was absconding since July 31 and was arrested on a tip-off.
