Boniyar students leave for 10-day tour

Srinagar, Oct 31: Students of Army Goodwill School from Boniyar area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district today set out on a ten-day tour to National Capital organized by the Army.
A defence spokesman said ‘carrying with them the message of peace’, the 25 students from Boniyar accompanied by two of their teachers, left for Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. He said the tour was flagged off by the Dagger Division Commander, Major Genral JS Nain from Baramula in presence of faculty of Army Goodwill School, parents and guardians and officials from the Civil Administration and Army.
“The tour is aimed at introducing the youth of Kashmir to the diversity and rich socio-cultural heritage of our country, widening their horizon and giving them a perspective on avenues of personal growth,” he said.
During the conduct of the tour, the students will be visiting world renowned places of historical significance in Central India like Qutab Minar, Red Fort, India Gate, Jamia Masjid, Rashtrapati Bhawan besides the wonderous Taj Mahal in Agra and Jaigarh fort in Jaipur, the defence spokesman said.
They will also get a chance to interact with many luminaries in their respective fields and gain from their personal experiences, he said, adding that the tour will be flagged in by Chinar Corps Commander at Srinagar on November 11.
