BSF jawan shoots self in Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer: A BSF jawan deployed at the international border in Longewala area of Jaisalmer committed suicide by shooting himself with service rifle.
There was no one present at the spot. On getting information, BSF officers and jawans reached the spot but by then the jawan had died. After post-mortem, police handed over the body to BSF. Domestic problem is said to be the reason of suicide.
SP Gaurav Yadav said Manoj Kumar (39), resident of Bulendshahar, UP, was deployed at Jogendra outpost of BSF 161 battalion at international border.
Late on Friday, he shot himself. On hearing the gun shot, officers and jawans reached the spot. After lodging a case, police have started investigation.
A BSF officer said the jawan had returned from leave two days ago and was probably going through some domestic problem due to which he seemed distracted. BSF officers are also investigating the case.
