The hidden talent in the Malayalam entertainment industry does come to the fore every once in a while. The short film Grace Villa, directed by Binoy Raveendran, proves again that the industry definitely has a bunch of talented filmmakers in its folds.
Releasing the film online on October 28, actor Tovino Thomas launched the 14-minute 19-second video on YouTube. The movie stars Parvathi T, Rajesh Hebbar and Kochu Premam. The thrilling and engaging plot is narrated in the backdrop of Coorg in 1988, introducing the character Mathews, played by Rajesh, who is planning to buy a property named Grace Villa, owned by Sally Grace (Parvathi).
Since Sally demands Rs 25 lakh for the property, which is worth Rs 3 lakh, people hesitate to buy it. When Mathews meets Sally, she tells him the story of her dead son, Michael, and why she is demanding this huge price for the house. The events are narrated through a few flashback scenes that are sure to keep the audience glued to their seats until the climax. The performance of Parvathi and Rajesh as well as the beautiful picturisation are the USPs of Grace Villa, which has a fair bit of suspense as well.
The first-look poster of the short film was earlier launched by actors Asif Ali, Biju Menon and Lena, while filmmaker Amal Neerad released its teaser. Many celebrities, including Tovino, Anoop Menon, Shabareesh Varma and Reenu Mathews, have been showering good words on Grace Villa on their social media pages.
