Lucknow: Known for his comic and hilarious roles in various
Bollywood and regional films, actor and comedian Rajpal Yadav has decided to foray into politics.
Rajpal will be the general secretary of the new party called
Sarva Sambhaav Party (SSP). He would be the party's star campaigner but not contest the upcoming assembly elections.
"As a policy matter, SSP would not field any candidate against the chief ministerial candidates of other political parties.
As of now, we are planning to contest from 400 assembly constituencies in the state," he said.
He added that the party would have its headquarters in Lucknow, and his two brothers-Shripal
Singh Yadav and Rajesh Singh Yadav-would contest from
Bisalpur and Tilhar assembly constituencies, respectively.
"The party would soon finalise its CM face," Rajpal added.
The party was established last year at Vrindawan Dhaam, but its formal announcement made now.
Rajpal said his ultimate goal was to establish his own ideology. On the recent spat in SP, the SSP general secretary said, "Lack of samwaad (communication) leads to miscommunication. And, effective communication is strong enough to clear all doubts."
Rajpal said the new party would strive to provide a road and track leading to development so that people who belong to the lowest strata of society can socially elevate themselves.
On being asked to elaborate party's stand on Bollywood saying no to Pakistani actors, Rajpal said, "The nation is above each and everyone of us. There is no place for any individual theory. If the nation does not want the Pakistani actors to act in Bollywood films, then we respect the sentiment of the nation."
On the issue of caste-based reservation, Rajpal said the party supports everything that is in the interest of the nation and humanity.
"UP would be the first innings for the party, and in the coming years, we would definitely become a force to reckon with in the national politics," he said.
