Dwyane Wade: 'There's no anger' with Pat Riley or Miami Heat

Chicago Bulls guard Dwyane Wade said he is not angry at the Miami Heat or Heat executive Pat Riley after the team did not re-sign him during the free agency period over the summer.

Wade signed a two-year, $47 million deal with the Bulls after spending his first 13 seasons with the Heat, helping the franchise win three NBA championships.

Riley has said he was "floored" by Wade's decision to move on after reports surfaced that Wade was angered by Miami's contract offer.

In his first home game with the Bulls, Wade scored 22 points, including hitting a three-pointer with 26.3 seconds left to help seal the 105–99 win over the Boston Celtics. Wade added six rebounds and five assists in the victory.

“I closed the Miami chapter right there,” Wade told The Vertical.

“I can’t focus over there anymore," Wade added. "I want those guys in Miami to be successful, but I’m motivated by greatness here. I’m motivated by doing what people think I can’t do, for sure. I had to make a decision, and I feel good about the decision I made."

Wade says he went through a lot of emotions after hitting the clinching bucket in the fourth quarter against the Celtics.

"I’m not here because I’m angry at [Pat Riley] or the Heat," Wade said. "There’s no anger. I’m happy because I got the freedom to look elsewhere. I got to look at home.”
