Natsu and Gray are now back to their senses thanks to Erza's interference. However, the Scarlet haired mage is now facing one of Spriggan's strongest mages, Irene.
In the next chapter, the relationship between the two mages will finally be revealed. In the last panel of "Fairy Tail" chapter 507, Irene claimed that she and Erza is the same person. Previous theories suggest that they are blood relatives and are from a powerful lineage of mages or them sharing a mother-daughter relationship.
In the previous chapter, Natsu and Gray's death match was stopped by Erza and upon learning Makarov's demise, the two calmed down. Gray was shocked to see Juvia alive, which gave him a sigh of relief but fainted afterwards. Natsu also passed out due to exhaustion but Lucy was there to attend to him. As the confusion finally settled down, Irene appeared out of the blue to confront Erza, who has no idea why her opponent knows her so well.
Meanwhile, the Crime Sorciere are being toyed with by August with Jellal running out of options. Cobra's technique was rendered useless while Racer's speed was easily countered by the powerful mage. Midnight's spell was also ineffective and was even used against them. Now, fans over at Reddit believe that it will be Jellal who will beat the mighty August, which would be the same for Erza defeating Irene.
Their love for each other will serve as their power-up to overcome the two most powerful mage in the Spriggan 12 but it will take a toll on them. However, some fans suggest that they will be assisted by other top-tier mages as the two will prove to be too much for one to handle. For Jellal, it will likely be Gildarts who will provide assistance while Erza will be helped by the likes of Minerva. Other scenario suggest that Irene will be ended by Acnologia, who was sent somewhere far by the Enchantress.
