During an intimate performance in Corpus Christi, Texas earlier this week, Joanna “JoJo” Levesque paid tribute to Selena Quintanilla with a beautiful rendition of the late singer’s chart-topping tune “Dreaming of You.”
“I had the pleasure of seeing the Selena statue, paying respect, and I’m just reminded of the amazing, amazing contribution she made to music, and how her spirit is still with us today,” the 25-year-old singer told the crowd Monday night (Oct. 24) at Brewster Street Icehouse. “I just wanted to pay homage and do ‘Dreaming Of You’ tonight. I hope I do it justice.”
The crowd-favorite moment was captured by fans who shared videos on social media. “JoJo came to Corpus Christi and made the Queen Selena proud. God bless you, I am in tears,” reads one post on Twitter.
