His tenure with the Los Angeles Galaxy hadn't gone too well prior to Wednesday. Emmanuel Boateng had played 25 games since joining the team in January, and he had zero goals. For a forward, that is about as bad as it gets.

But on Wednesday, he was as good as it gets. The 22-year-old Ghana-born striker scored two goals as the Galaxy eliminated Real Salt Lake from the MLS Playoffs in the Western Conference knockout round, 3-1. He used his small, 5-6 stature and his blazing speed to carve up Real on his first goal and then showed some clinical finishing from a tight angle for his second, both in the first half. Take a look.

For a team with so much skill up top, to have another player contributing is huge news for the giants from the city of angels.

As a result, Los Angeles moves on and will host Colorado in the first leg of their conference semifinal clash on Sunday.
