A reservist perished during crisis management training exercises at the Pori Brigade in Säkylä, in western Finland.
The reservist was reportedly pinned by the wheel of an armoured vehicle during a training scenario ahead of a crisis management deployment to Lebanon. According to the tabloid Ilta-Sanomat, it was a six-wheeled Pasi XA-185 armoured personnel carrier.
Relatives of the deceased have been informed of the incident and officials have provided crisis counselling for other participants.
Police are to begin an investigation into the incident.
