YEREVAN. – The Government of Armenia will present the 2017 draft state budget at Parliament from the positions of program budgeting.

Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan stated the aforementioned at the start of Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.

In his words, parliamentary debates on the draft state budget will start on October 31, and therefore it is important that the ministers submit the plans for the expenditures in their respective domains on the basis of what results they aim to achieve, and within what period of time.

“In particular, it is indispensable to present the approaches and precepts, within the framework of which the sectoral budgets are formed,” noted Karapetyan. “It is indispensable to proceed from quantitative and qualitative results.”
