IMC authorities are chalking out plans to set up a dedicated waste processing unit at its existing trenching ground near
Devguradia here.

Malini Gaud on Wednesday visited the dumping yard and discussed about processing waste in a constructive manner. She instructed officials to properly collect, segregate, clean and process the plastic waste for its use as road construction material.
She discussed about the amount of waste being collected from the city, and how it is being disposed-off.
Gaud also visited the processing plant where garbage is being converted into compost. She also discussed with officials about the possibility of making electricity from waste, the use of plastic waste as road construction material and also the process of how garbage is being converted into compost. "We must look at using maximum of plastic waste for construction of roads in the city. We should also ensure that waste being dumped here being properly processed and disposed,: she said.
The mayor instructed the officials concerned to initiate proper action to set up a waste processing unit. She also instructed them on taking measures to control fires that continue to rage in the trenching ground due to the combustible gases that emanate from the heap of garbage. The smoke also causes problems to people living in the vicinity, leading to serious health issues.
