Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is set to embark on its Vikas rath yatra on November 3. Stating that the yatra will establish new identity of Akhilesh “leadership” and will also ensure success for 2017 assembly polls, Cabinet minister Rajendra Chowdhury said it would reach every corner of the state.
The yatra, called Vikas se Vijay ki ore (from development to victory) will be on a 10-wheel Mercedes bus equipped with top-of-the-line gadgets and amenities, reports HT. While the chief minister announced the launch of the yatra on October 3, the Yadav family feud delayed the matter.
The rath yatra will commence from La Martiniere School ground, in front of his residence and will cover Lucknow, Unnao and Kanpur on the first day. A lot of arrangements have been made by Team Akhilesh for the success of the yatra, in which besides video titled ‘Kam Bolta Hai’ (Work speaks), showing the CM working tirelessly will also be shown.
“Lakhs of youths will participate in the yatra, which will prove to be the turning point of politics. At every halt, Akhilesh will be welcomed by youths, farmers, minority and he will also address the gathering,” added Chowdhury.
Arrangements are being made to ensure huge success of the yatra, amidst family tussle to establish Akhilesh as “indisputed” political heir of SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.
“The route of the ‘yatra’ is yet to be finalised. It will be done in the next two or three days,” said cabinet minister Rajendra Chaudhary. “As silver jubilee celebrations of the party will start from November 5, the ‘yatra’ has to return for the celebrations.”
