After the Una Dalit flogging incident, the RSS organised over 200 sadbhavna and sant sammelans in Gujarat to “restore peaceful environment in the society”, which it believed was “shattered”. Gujarat RSS chief Mukesh Malkan said the outfit would hold 500 more such meetings in coming days.
Malkan, addressing a press conference on the Sangh’s recent all-India meet in Telangana, said: “There have been some incidents in Gujarat which brought bitterness among societies and to bring harmony and peace, over 200 meetings were held in Gujarat.”
He also said that the incidents of attacks on Dalits and the Patidar quota movement are products of “intellectual terrorism”. Advocating abolition of triple talaq, he said like the Hindus who ended “sati pratha”, which had become a social evil, the Muslims should also do away with triple talaq. On the rising demand for boycott of Chinese products, Malkan said that RSS has always been advocating for swadeshi.
