Leander Paes to lead Puneites in attempt to create record

Tennis star Leander Paes will lead over 500 tennis players, coaches, fans and enthusiasts in an attempt to create a new record for ball-tapping on Saturday at 4 pm at the ongoing KPIT MSLTA ATP Challenger being played at the Mhalunge Balewadi tennis complex.

Last year, in a similar attempt, 367 tennis players and coaches set a record by tapping the ball at the same time for 20 seconds without dropping it. The feat was registered in the Limca Book of Records.This year, the organisers said that the tournament is aiming to break the world record set during the China Open where 814 participants had gathered and 767 of them successfully tapped the ball without dropping it for 10 seconds.
