Jasbir, Ravi, Gurucharan win Gold in Shotput; Naveen, Shamash-u-Din, Surjeet in Long Jump

JAMMU, Oct 26: District Masters Athletics Meet was organized today under the aegis of J&K State Masters’ Association in MA Stadium.
About 70 athletes of district Jammu took part in track and field events in 8 different disciplines in various age groups.
In 3 km Walk (Women 50+ yrs), Sudesh Basotra won Gold, Neelam Sharma secured Silver and Raj Kiran Sharma claimed Bronze.
In 5km Run (Men 60+ yrs), Ram Paul Kapoor claimed Gold and Balwan Singh won Silver while in 5km Run (Men 50+ yrs), DySP Kulbir Honda won Gold and Lal Chand claimed Silver.
In 800 m (Women 50+ yrs), Pawan Sharma excelled with Gold and Kanta Butyal claimed Silver while in 800 m (Men 45 +yrs), Chamel Singh won Gold.
In 100 m (Men 40+ yrs), Anil Sharma won Gold while in 100 m (Women 55+ yrs), Raj Kiran claimed Gold, Pawan Sharma won Silver and Kanta Bhutyal secured Bronze.
In Long Jump (45 + yrs), Naveen Sharma, Shamash-u-Din and Surjeet Singh won Gold while Randhir Singh claimed Silver. In Triple Jump (40 + yrs), Gurcharan Singh claimed Gold.
In Shotput (Men 60 + yrs), Jasbir Singh claimed Gold, Rangil Singh Charak won Silver and Rajinder Nath Sharma secured Bronze whereas in Shotput (Men 45 + yrs), Ravi Singh excelled with Gold, Shamash-u-Din won Silver and Anil Sharma secured Bronze.
In Shotput (Men 35+ yrs), Gurucharan Singh claimed Gold and Ajay Paul Gill got Silver while in Discus Throw (Men 60+ yrs), Jasbir Singh won Gold, Rangil Singh Charak claimed Silver and Rajinder Nath Sharma secured Bronze.
In the end, Divisional Sports Officer of J&K State Sports Council, Rajan Sharma, who was the chief guest on the occasion, gave away prizes to the winners.
