Father-son duo chop off minor’s finger for stealing dung cake

An eight-year-old boy’s finger was allegedly chopped off by a father-son duo after he stole cow dung cakes from their store room in Burna village in Laksar, police said. The incident occurred on Friday, however, an FIR was lodged on Wednesday following a complaint by victim’s father.

ROORKEE: An eight-year-old boy’s finger was allegedly chopped off by a father-son duo after he stole cow dung cakes from their store room in Burna village in Laksar, police said. The incident occurred on Friday, however, an FIR was lodged on Wednesday following a complaint by victim’s father.
The accused, Ramesh and his son Shubham, had also beaten up Aryan before cutting off his left hand’s little finger as punishment, Laksar police said.

A case has been registered against the two under sections 326 (grievous hurt by dangerous weapons), 323 (voluntary causes hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC. Police said the accused are absconding. However, investigations into the case is underway.
“The family members took the victim to a private hospital for treatment soon after the incident. But as we received a complaint from the victim’s father on Wednesday, following which we initiated a probe,” Dinesh Singh, officiating in-charge of Laksar police station told TOI.
