SOCHI (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, Kyrgyzstan's President Almazbek Atambayev signed a decree on government resignation amid the parliamentary coalition break-up and gave the country's Social Democratic Party (SDPK) a mandate to form a majority coalition in the Kyrgyz parliament.
"This was a well-judged action. It was worked out in advance which parties would be included in this majority in order to forge coalition and, of course, in order to form the government," Imanaliev said on the sidelines of the Valdai Discussion Club.
He added that the breakdown is unlikely to have a negative impact on the domestic affairs in the country.
"I think, those opposition parties that will not be included in the coalition this time will probably make public statements that this is not in line with the constitution," Imanaliev said stressing that "this was a well thought-out step with legal grounding in order to get out from crisis situation."
The SDPK urged a more stable coalition, expressing readiness to cooperate with all political forces in parliament that supported sustainable social and economic development "on the path of democracy."
