Tom Cruise calls Scientology a 'beautiful religion' in revealing new interview

Tom Cruise is still a devoted believer in Scientology, and he opened up about his beliefs during a new interview with ITV News last week.

A reporter asked Cruise about Louis Theroux's documentary, "My Scientology Movie," which shines a less-than-positive light on the organization, and he had nothing but good things to say about his experience as a practicing Scientologist.

"It's something that has helped me incredibly in my life," Cruise explained. "I've been a Scientologist for 30 years. It's something, you know, without it, I wouldn't be where I am. So it's a beautiful religion. I'm incredibly proud."

As you can see in the video above, the Church of Scientology has had many famous members that have dropped out before knocking their time as Scientologists. Among them, Leah Remini, who called out Tom Cruise during an interview with 20/20 last year.

"Being critical of Tom Cruise is being critical of Scientology itself," she said at the time.
