The Pune-based two-wheeler manufacturer had introduced the new 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 220 in the country in December 2016. Priced at Rs 91,201 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 220 is around 2,274 more expensive than the previous model. The motorcycle received subtle cosmetic upgrades and a BSIV compliant engine. Though, the overall profile remains unchanged. Since its launch, the company has added a new Laser Red paint scheme on the Pulsar 220. The 220cc motorcycle now gets a new graphics – red colour with new white highlights.
Save for the few updates, the 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 220 shares a strong resemblance with the previous model. The bike now gets a new backlit colour for the instrumentation cluster instead of amber to cool blue shade. Other design highlights include new dual-tone scheme, matte-black finished exhaust with chrome, new rim decals and chrome highlighting. The new seats are claimed to offer comfortable ride for both rider and pillion. Powering the bike is the same 220cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, DTS-i engine, which has been calibrated to meet BS4 norms.

The updated Pulsar 220, as mentioned above, derives its power from the same 220cc, 4-stroke, DTS-i, oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine. Though, this motor now caters BS-IV emission norms. Bajaj claims that this power mill is more refined and offers better performance and efficiency. It belts out a maximum power of 21.05bhp at 8,500rpm and 19.12Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. Design and styling of the new Pulsar 220 model looks largely identical to the old model. Though, the bike gets new graphics, modified fairing with new headlights, more chiseled fuel tank and new taillight, which are in-sync with new age Pulsars. The bike continues to feature the same semi-fairing styling, split rear grab rails, split seats and clip-on handle bars.
