UP Min Tej Pratap Pandey expelled from SP for assaulting party MLC

Lucknow, Oct 26 (UNI) The Samajwadi Party today expelled minister of state for forest Tej Pratap Pandey for six years from the party for assaulting MLC Ashu Malik. The announcement was made by state party president Shivpal Singh Yadav here at the state party office. Mr Yadav told mediapersons that the decision to expel the Minister was taken by party national president Mulayam Singh Yadav. Tej Pratap, also known as Pawan Pandey, was reported to have assaulted Malik, a close confidant of Mulayam and Shivpal inside the Chief Minister's residence on Monday. "We have written a letter to the UP CM to sack Pandey from the Ministerial position over clash with MLC Ashu Malik," Shivpal said. Yesterday, Akhilesh too had summoned him at his residence. Malick had lodge a police complaint against Pandey but since the incident occurred inside the CM's residence, no FIR has so far been registered. Shivpal said that indiscipline would not be tolerated at any cost and those trying to create trouble would be shown the doors. He also claimed that everything in the party is good and there is unity among the leaders and workers. He further said that he will only work as per the direction of 'Netaji'. Pandey is the party MLA from the important Ayodhya assembly constituency and was recently re-inducted in the state ministry. He was sacked earlier from the ministry for indiscipline but re-inducted back after two years. UNI MB SB 1110
