HYDERABAD: Following the deaths of 18-year-old Andoju Sai Kiran and 45-year-old B Srinivas, their families decided to donate their organs to several terminally ill patients under Jeevandan programme.
Kiran, an intermediate student and resident of ECIL, Hyderabad, and Srinivas, a resident of Kothuru mandal, Ranga Reddy, were hospitalised in two different city hospitals following separate road accidents.
The two were riding two-wheelers at Pedavura mandal (Nalgonda) and Kothuru Y-Junction (Ranga Reddy) respectively when the accidents occurred, following which they were declared brain dead by doctors.
While Kiran's kidneys were given to Apollo and Kamineni hospitals, his liver was given to Global Hospital and eyes to LV Prasad on Tuesday. Srinivas's kidneys, liver and eyes were allocated to different hospitals by Jeevandan authorities on Monday.
