Cavs, Spurs kick off NBA season with blowout wins

Spurs dominate the Warriors

Kawhi Leonard scored a career-high 35 points and the San Antonio Spurs shocked the Golden State Warriors with a 129-100 win.

This Jonathon Simmons block on Stephen Curry pretty much summed up how the game went down.

Stat to know

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, only one team has ever lost a season opener by 20 or more points and then bounced back to win the NBA title. That was the St. Louis Hawks, who were blown out by Bill Russell's Celtics on opening night in 1957 before then beating the Celtics later that year in the NBA Finals. -- ESPN Stats & Information

LeBron, Cavs steamroll Knicks

Cleveland showed no mercy against New York in its 117-88 blowout win. LeBron James notched his 43rd career triple-double, and according to ESPN Stats & Information, recorded the most assists (14) in a triple-double in a season-opening game since Oscar Robertson had 15 in the 1963-64 season. It was also the NBA's first triple-double in a season opener since Jason Kidd had one in 2006.

Kevin Durant scores first points as a Warrior

The new Warrior scores Golden State's first points of the game -- and his first as a member of their team -- with this fadeaway jumper against the San Antonio Spurs.

Sager on seats

Every fan at the Warriors' regular-season opener against the Spurs will receive a Craig Sager T-shirt, a tribute to the Turner sideline reporter who is battling leukemia.

The shirts will also be on sale, with the proceeds benefiting the Sager Strong Foundation.

Cavs celebrate title

The Cavs hung their first banner in franchise history -- and celebrated accordingly.

The Undertaker comes to Cleveland

The Undertaker posed with Kevin Love at Quicken Loans Arena before the Knicks-Cavs game. Down 3-1 to the Warriors in the NBA Finals in June, LeBron James found inspiration from the legendary WWE star en route to an NBA title with Cleveland.
