DEHRADUN: Former MLA from Ghansali, Bheem Lal Arya has written a letter to Chief Minister Harish Rawat accusing the state officials of ignoring education department related projects in his assembly constituency. An apparently upset Arya has warned to sit on a protest inside the secretariat premises if his demands were not accepted by October 27.
Arya was elected on BJP ticket in 2012 assembly elections but going against the party lines he stood loyal to Congress during the political turmoil.
He is regarded close to the CM and for supporting the ruling party he was disqualified from the state assembly. The former lawmaker was in news recently as he had blown the bugle against Rawat for allegedly ignoring development works in his constituency.
On Monday, he once again stirred up controversy by writing a letter to the CM over his demands. "The CM is doing extremely good work and his efforts are being appreciated across the state but unfortunately the same cannot be said about the bureaucrats." He claimed that the officials were "not under the control of anyone."
Arya told TOI that he had requested for some key projects like upgradation of a high school at Gewali and construction of building for the inter college at Naulvasar. "On several occasions, the CM has instructed and even requested the education department officials to get these projects completed but they appear least bothered over the issue. In wake of the repeated ignorance, I have decided to sit on a protest at secretariat from October 27. I hope some concrete steps are taken before Thursday, failing which I will continue the fight till the time justice is done to people of my assembly area," he added.
