Betabrand CEO To Speak at the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School

Founder of an online clothing company, UNC Kenan-Flagler graduate Chris Lindland will share 20 years of startup experience on Nov. 7.

Chris Lindland, founder and CEO of Betabrand, an online clothing company, will give a free, public talk at the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School as part of the Dean's Speaker Series on Nov. 7.

Lindland, a 1995 graduate of the Undergraduate Business Program at UNC Kenan-Flagler, manages the 80-person startup in San Francisco. He will draw on 20 years of startup experience to talk about how to turn ideas into companies, how to fund them and how to make them last.

Betabrand is a fashion platform that crowdsources and crowdfunds fashion, allowing consumers to co-create clothing. It has raised more than $23 million in financing from Foundry Group, OATV and Morgan Stanley.

Lindland earned honors as a top 100 creative by Adweek in 2015. Prior to Betabrand, he co-founded an online storage company called i-drive; wrote and sold television pilots to Spike TV; and headed business development for an online travel company in Germany called Worldres.
