American reality star Kim Kardashian isn't the only high-profile celebrity making headlines in Paris, France for criminal reasons.
A Parisian gang has reportedly tried, and failed, to kidnap Lebanese superstar Haifa Wehbe last week.
Haifa had told her Snapchat followers that an Arabic-speaking taxi driver and two men on motorcycles tried to kidnap her on Wednesday night.
The singer-turned-actress just happened to be on Snapchat at the time of the incident. She recorded much of the failed kidnap attempt, leading eventually to the police station.
Because Haifa is a well-recognized face and one who shares her every single move on social media, it wouldn't have been difficult for the said gang to find her.
Ironically, social media was also behind Kim Kardashian's gunpoint robbery.
While many sources falsified the singer's story - how could they with all that Snapchat evidence? - she hit back at them today by tweeting a photo of an official police report addressing the incident.

Haifa insisted that "those sources are trying to defame me and ruin my reputation."
French authorities weren't the only source to confirm Haifa's story: the 44-year-old diva's longtime friend, international director Tarik Freitekh, said in a press statement, "Haifa is safe, unharmed physically, but terribly shaken by the incident."
