NAGPUR: A Gondia-based non-governmental organization (NGO) Satya Samajik sanstha along with Asha hospital, Kamptee, in Nagpur district, joined hands to organize a health check-up camp at Naxal-affected Aheri in Gadchiroli on Sunday. Around 220 cops and their family members benefitted from the camp which was organized at Aheri police headquarters.
The camp had the support of the Maharahtra polices' health insurance scheme.
The cops, who work under severe stress, often tend to ignore matters related to health. Also, the heavy work pressure of having to work in the Naxal-affected region too has learnt to have added to their woes.
Senior officers, including Gadchiroli SP Abhinaav Deshmukh and additional SP Mahesh Reddy, were present at the camp appealing the cops and their families to attend the camp in maximum numbers.
