They may be the best of friends today but there was a time when Shane Watson and Mitchell Johnson didn't get along too well. Once during the initial stages of their careers, things got so heated that the former Australian allrounder shoved Johnson's head down the toilet.

Johnson revealed in his autobiography 'Resilient' that during the Cricket Academy at Adelaide in the year 2000, how that year's batch had a habit of watching the Australia soap 'Neighbours' together, and during the commercials engage in an all-in wrestle.

"Every night we'd pile into the common room and watch Neighbours before dinner," Johnson wrote. "It was always a bit willing as every time there was an ad break there would be an all-in wrestle on the floor until the show started again.

"In one wrestle I was dragged through the door and into the bathroom by a heap of guys and somebody pushed my head into the toilet. I wasn't impressed and the red mist descended. Somehow I managed to break free and I grabbed whoever it was by the front of the shirt as I got up and someone grabbed mine. I raised my right fist and he did the same. Then we looked at each other. It was Watto (Shane Watson).

"I think we both looked at each other and thought: nah, I'm not going to hit him, he's my mate, and put our fists down at the same time. "I can't say I wasn't angry. It took me a few days to get over it. We eventually started to talk to each other again and Watto remains one of my best mates in cricket."

Though eventually, Watson and Johnson went on to become the closest of buddies on the field. They played 43 Tests together, where they won an Ashes series at home and claimed the 2015 World Cup in Australia.

This however, isn't the first time that a former Australian cricketer has mentioned an incident regarding Watson. Last week, former captain Michael Clarke resurfaced an old issue, where he described Watson part of a group that was "like a tumor" on the team. Speaking on 60 Minutes, Clarke opened up on some of his stormy relationships but denied labelling Watson a "cancer" on the team.

"No, I didn't say that," Clarke had said. "I said that there is a number of players, or a group in this team at the moment that are like a tumour, and if we don't fix it, it's going to turn into a cancer."
