A soul-touching evening of poetry and live music was organized at Punjab Kala Bhawan auditorium in Sector 16 on Monday.An all new three-piece band "Sajda" performed for the night.

CHANDIGARH: A soul-touching evening of poetry and live music was organized at Punjab Kala Bhawan auditorium in Sector 16 on Monday. An all new three-piece band "Sajda" performed for the night. The trio was formed by Vijai Vardhan, Padamjeet Sehrawat and Kamal Joshi who came together for the first time to try a fusion. Vijai Vardhan was the baritone for the event who recited collections of Harivansh Rai Bacchan, Ghalib, Gulzar and some others.
He is also additional chief secretary, department of labour, Haryana. This talented artist has written eight books and is counted as a bureaucrat author.
Padamjeet Sherawat, who was the lead singer for the evening, is a singer by profession. He is also a professional sports commentator and has also commentated live for a TV channel. He was also associated with Ranji Cricket Team of Haryana for long. Kamal Joshi is a skillful pianist. A school teacher in Delhi by profession, he is passionate about playing piano. He has played piano a number of times individually but this is the first time he performed in a band.
The three decided to come up with the band "Sajda" to try something new and create a fusion like never before. The event aimed to instil interest in "shayari".
