Gangster nabbed in Gr Noida

GREATER NOIDA: A member of the dreaded Randip Bhati gang, Bobby Thakur (40), who carries a reward of Rs 12,000, has been nabbed by Greater Noida police from the industrial area of Ecotech police station on Monday.
Superintendent of police (rural), Sujata Singh told TOI that Bobby was a big catch as he has been named in 12 cases including extortion of farmers and builders in the area.
Ajay Sharma, incharge of the anti-extortion cell, said that he was arrested from the Majestic roundabout after they received a tip-off on Sunday night. “He tried to flee and had tried to open fire on the police. However, we were able to nab him. He has five cases registered against him for extortion and two for robbery apart from those under Arms Act,” he said.
A country-made pistol of .315 bore and two live cartridges were seized from him. The police are on the lookout for Kuldeep Jaat, one of his accomplices, who is absconding.
