VARANASI: Amid political slugfest over the Army action against terror camps inside Pakistan, Prime Minister
Narendra Modi on Monday said the country should stand with men in uniform who sacrifice their life and youth to defend the country so that "we can celebrate
Diwali and other festivals".
"The men in uniform should be made to feel that the country stands with them and they are not forgotten once any calamity, when they become our saviours, is over," Modi told a public rally here and appealed people to send a Diwali message to the army and other forces through my gov.in or call 1922.
"I feel proud of the manner in which the countrymen, especially the people of Kashi, observed
Chhoti Diwali to celebrate the valour of armed forces on September 29," the PM said.
