Agra: Stalked and harassed for several months by the son of a sub-inspector, a class XII student met senior superintendent of police here on Monday and narrated the ordeal after local police allegedly refused to file a complaint. The 16-year-old girl, who was allegedly molested at her house by the accused and his friend, has even stopped going to school.
After the intervention of the SSP, police have now initiated a manhunt for the cop’s son.
Even though the victim, a resident of Indranagar Narayach of Itmad-ud-daula area, has to appear for board exams in four months, she has confined herself to her home because of persistent threats from the accused whose age is around 18-19 years.
Speaking to TOI, the elder brother of the victim said, “For several weeks, my sister was in great depression and has avoided going to school. Even when we enquired, she never shared her ordeal. Meanwhile on September 20, a boy who is our neighbor and his friend tried to molest my sister in her room while the entire family was sleeping. The accused climbed the wall and groped her. When she screamed for help, my father rushed to her room and the youths pushed him away and escaped.” “One of the youths is the son of a sub-inspector who is posted in Firozabad. When we informed him about the incident, the cop didn’t pay any heed to it and instead threatened us of dire consequences,” he added.
According to the victim, the SI’s son had proposed to her and when she rebuffed his advances, he allegedly started stalking her. “Based on the directions of the SSP, the local police are now registering an FIR,” she added.
Talking to TOI, Raguraj Singh, station officer of Itmad-ud-daula, said, “We are going to file an FIR in the matter. Also, a manhunt has been launched to nab the youths.”
