Indore, MP, Oct 24 (UNI) External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has met speech and hearing challenged girl Geeta nearly a year after she returned to India from Pakistan. Ms Swaraj met Geeta at a local hotel after addressing the valedictory of the Global Investors Summit in Madhya Pradesh’s commercial capital yesterday. During the 45-minute-long meeting, she sought information about her education and training. Geeta interacted with Ms Swaraj in sign language and informed her that she was doing well. She presented a handkerchief hand-embroidered by her. Sources said the External Affairs Minister also presented gifts to Geeta, ahead of her birthday, which is celebrated on October 26 when she returned from Pakistan. Her actual birth date is not known. Ms Monika Punjabi, who is associated with a deaf and dumb association, accompanied Geeta at the meeting. She said that Ms Swaraj apprised Geeta that a plan has been worked out to take her to Bihar and Jharkhand after Deepawali and help her find her village and family. For the purpose, such places were identified from where trains ply as Geeta had gone missing while traveling in train. UNI XC-PS AE 1658
