Lyon: Lyon will be without Mathieu Valbuena for the next three weeks after the French international playmaker suffered a dislocated shoulder in Saturday's Ligue 1 defeat to Guingamp, the club announced on Monday.

Valbuena was stretchered off in tears just minutes after coming on as a second-half substitute and was taken straight to hospital where he spent the night before being allowed home on Sunday.

Capped 52 times by France, the former Marseille man has endured a nightmare 2016 having been left out of the France squad for the European Championship as his form suffered after he was targeted in a sex-tape blackmail affair which led to international colleague Karim Benzema being charged.

Lyon lost Saturday's game 3-1 and sit 10th after 10 games, already 13 points behind leaders Nice.
