PCB exemption for some firms

Indore: In order to build a conducive business environment and pay heed to the grievances of industrialists, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that some "non-polluting industries" will be exempted from seeking PCB clearance.
The procedure for getting approval will be sped up, he promised. However, the chief minister did not explain which industries will enjoy the exemption.
Madhya Pradesh's industry minister Rajendra Shukla said, "The chief minister has directed administrative staff to fasten the procedure of clearances and comply to ease of doing business."
Shukla said, "Our aim is not to harass industries that have installed STP's on their premises and are making adequate to minimize pollution." TNN
