Ghaziabad police makes first arrest in Masuri loot case

City Police have made their first arrest in the Masuri loot case of September 28, from near Dasna graveyard road on Sunday. Earlier, Hapur police had made two arrests on October 6.

The accused has been arrested under Section 392 (punishment for robbery) of the Indian Penal Code.
GHAZIABAD: City Police have made their first arrest in the Masuri loot case of September 28, from near Dasna graveyard road on Sunday. Earlier, Hapur police had made two arrests on October 6.
The accused has been identified as Zulfikar alias Bhutto, who is a resident of Partapur, Bulanshahr and was absconding after looting a businessman of Rs 4,50,000 on gunpoint along with four other accomplices near Sunderdeep College in Dasna, Ghaziabad.

A country-made pistol, two live cartridges and Rs 50,000 cash have been recovered from his possession.
“We have made the first arrest today in this case after receiving a tip-off. Two accused, riding a motorbike, and were intercepted near IMS College in Dasna, however, one of them managed to escape,” said CO Sadar Ashish Shrivastav.
Two of Zulfikar’s accomplices, identified as Afzal and Shamish, who were arrested by Hapur police and are currently behind the bars.
As per the officials, a tip-off was received by Masuri police that two accused riding a bike were noticed near the graveyard at Dasna. The informer told cops that the duo looked suspicious and could possibly be conspiring to perpetrate another tragedy in the vicinity. “As and when we received information, we assembled our police team to install checkpoints to nab the accused,” added Shrivastav.

In the jostle between cops and the accused, Zulfikar, who was riding pillion got off the bike and started running away but was nabbed close to Pir Makhdum Sahib Ki Dargah which is near IMS College, Dasna, however, Saurabh, who was riding the bike managed to flee in the chaos.
The accused has been arrested under Section 392 (punishment for robbery) of the Indian Penal Code.
The accused had various other cases registered in his name at Bibinagar, Police Station, Bhadwi, Police Station, Hapur in Dehat among others.
All the five accused used to execute criminal offences by smuggling illegal firearms.
