AURANGABAD: The India Post department will set up stalls at three places in the city to sell Gangajal brought from Rishikesh and Haridwar from Monday. The stalls will be set up at Nirala Bazaar, Gulmandi and Connaught Place for a period of three days.
According to sources in the department, this is an attempt from the postal department to increase its reach and carve a niche for itself.
The department, however, is yet to decide on the rates the Gangajal will be sold.
The department would make use of these three days of Gangajal sale to highlight other important services being provided by them, including postal tickets, Sukanya Samruddhi Yojana, Postal Life Insurance Scheme, Atal Pension Scheme, and Prime Minister Safety Insurance Scheme.
"Arrangements are also being made to supply Gangajal online. People could soon be able to book Gangajal online and get it delivered at their doorsteps by the department of post," the sources added.
