Volunteers vow for a cleaner Ganga

Hundreds of volunteers belonging to various organisations, including the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), organized a massive campaign to clean Ganga in Sangam area, on Sunday.

ALLAHABAD: Hundreds of volunteers belonging to various organisations, including the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), organized a massive campaign to clean Ganga in Sangam area, on Sunday.
The volunteers also took an oath to make all possible efforts to check pollution on the banks of the river.
Apart from volunteers, a section of doctors, engineers and advocates from the city too took part in the campaign.
The participants collected garbage from the area and transported it to garbage dumping units.
Manoj Kumar, Vibhag Pracharak ( RSS) said "It's a collective effort to clean the river and and its banks by the people." He further said it was high time that individuals should come forward to keep the city clean and green.
Volunteers said they would spread environmental awareness among visitors.
