2,000 cartons of liquor seized in Moga

BATHINDA: Police on Sunday seized 2,360 cartons of Punjab made liquor (PML) from two vehicles near Lohara Chowk in Moga. One of the drivers was taken into custody whereas the other fled the spot.
Moga DSP (investigations) Satpal Singh said, “A team of CIA police on a tip off had laid a naka at Lohara Chowk on Sunday morning and stopped the two mini-trucks loaded with liquor. The drivers failed to produce any documents for transporting the booze.The police arrested Krishan Kumar of Abohar while the other driver Gurmeet Singh fled.“ He said 2,360 cartons with 28,320 bottles were seized and a case under the excise act has been registered.
