KOLKATA: Skeletal remains of a woman were found in the septic tank of a house at Satulia village in Bhangar on Sunday. Police identified the deceased as Bharati Ghosh (55), who had been missing for the past two months. Ghosh used to stay in the home of Abdul Wahid Molla in Bhangar. Her skeleton, wrapped in a torn saree and with bangles on the hands, were discovered next door.

Molla's wives Maskura Bibi and Fazila Bibi and his son Hafizul were arrested on Sun day evening after they admitted they dumped the body on the night of August 13. Molla had fled the village after the body was discovered by the neighbour when a sweeper opened tank's lid to clean it. “They said the woman had taken poison and died, after which they panicked and dumped her body in their neighbour's septic tank,“ said an officer of Kashipur police station.
Cops have started a murder case on the basis of a complaint filed by Ghosh's husband. “We have sent the body for postmortem and forensics to find out how she died,“ the officer said.
