Three arrested for looting Rajkot jewellers in Kutch

In a joint operation, Rajkot's local crime branch (LCB) and Bhachau police nabbed three persons, who had robbed city-based jewellers of gold ornaments worth Rs 72 lakh near Vondh village in Kutch two days ago.

RAJKOT: In a joint operation, Rajkot's local crime branch (LCB) and Bhachau police nabbed three persons, who had robbed city-based jewellers of gold ornaments worth Rs 72 lakh near Vondh village in Kutch two days ago.
Acting on a tip-off, the cops arrested Ashish Soni, 27, and Hitendra Jadeja, 30, both residents of Antarjal village near Gandhidham and Rahul Soni, 25, of Adhoi village near Bhachau.
Of the looted booty , police recovered ornaments worth Rs 35.25 lakh from them. These included 428 gold earnings worth Rs 19.64 lakh, 71 necklaces worth Rs 7.09 lakh and 72 rings worth Rs 8.52 lakh.
On the night of October 20, seven persons had intercepted jewellers Harshad Adesara and his brother Mat huresh who were returning from Gandhidham after finalizing deals with local traders. They had beaten up the Adesara brothers with iron pipes and robbed the ornaments.
