2 medical students from Kerala die as car hits truck

BENGALURU: Two MBBS students were killed after their car hit a truck near Budihal on Tumakuru Road, 30km north of Bengaluru, in the early hours of Sunday.
Mohammad Atif, 25, and Leena Maria, 26, from Kerala were students of Siddhartha Medical College, Tumakuru. They were returning to their hostel from Bengaluru when the accident occurred at 2.30am. Atif, who was at the wheel, lost control of the Maruti Swift, jumped the median, entered the other lane and collided with the truck coming from the opposite direction.

Woman, technician mowed down two pedestrians, one of them a senior citizen, were killed in two accidents on Saturday night.
Padmavathi Gowda, 65, who was heading home after shopping, died after a motorcycle rider knocked her down near Dodda Bommasandra, north Bengaluru, on Saturday night. She was crossing the road at 7.30pm when Joseph's two-wheeler rammed Padmavathi.
In the second incident, a 43-year old computer technician was mowed down by a KSRTC bus near Krishna Floor Mill, off Majestic. Jagadeesh was walking towards Kempegowda bus terminal at 8pm when the Ballari-bound KSRTC bus hit him.
